Bayern Munich footballer Jerome Boateng was sentenced to pay a 300, 000-euro commission to the broker, who a year ago helped him buy a luxury villa in the suburb of the Bavarian capital. Before the court in Munich, the German national was justified in saying that because the broker in question was a friend of his, he did not think he owe him anything. The agent, however, took out a mediation contract for the purchase signed by Boateng in May 2016. The World Champion admitted having signed a contract but did not know what. Their friendship was based on the fact that their children attended the same kindergarten. The Broker says he has been able to cut by half a million the price demanded by the previous owner of the estate. So Boateng bought the villa for 7, 4 million. The defendant and his lawyer said they would appeal the higher-instance ruling.
Curiously, at a previous hearing, the judge is outraged at how the broker can claim such a high commission.
