Carolina Panthers running back Rashaad Penny has been added to the list of retired players.
The 28-year-old player hung up his cleats after 6 seasons in the NFL. Panthers head coach Dave Canales hinted that the player`s accumulated injuries were the reason for this decision.
Penny was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 2018 draft. He had his best season in 2021, when he gained 749 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. Even then, he played only 10 matches analyzed by football livescore due to injuries.
Last season, Penny signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, but only made 11 rushing attempts that season.
Penny has 1, 951 career rushing yards and 13 touchdowns and 227 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Carolina`s running back corps includes Chuba Hubbard, rookie Jonathon Brooks, Miles Sanders and Raheem Blackshear.
